Explain the progression of agression and why the Western European Nations appease Adolf Hitler.

Hitler became very aggressive when he tried to get rid of all the Jews in Germany but they would all come back because no other country wanted them. Thus starting the Holocaust. Also because of the Ethiopian affair, Hitler thought the Western powers were weak. The Western European Nations appeased Adolf Hitler because they wanted to avoid war since Hitler’s goals were limited and pretty much acceptable. Also the British were still recovering from the first war and they wouldn’t be able to aford taking part in another war or else they’d lose.

In 1945, the Big Three, consisting of Franklin Delano Roosevelt, Winston Churchill, and Josef Stalin, met at Yalta in Crimea in February of 1945. Roosevelt sought the participation of the Souviet Union in the Pacific war against Japan. Coupled with the fear of Soviet expansion, due to their communist beliefs, Russia obtained Sakhalin and the Kurile Islands. Roosevelt and Churchill also gave Stalin some of his desires regarding Korea and Manchuria.

Describe the Spanish Civil War and its impact on the start of World War II.

The Spanish Civil War(1936-39), was a military revolt against the Republican government of Spain. Made the new European alignment that placed/seperated teh Western democracies and the fascist states. The war provided a training ground for World War II. It also brought Germany and Italy closer together, leading to the Rome-Berlin Axis Pact. Later, the pact of allies grew, Barcelona fell to Franco in 1939 causing the fascist to win effective control over Spain.

The Atlantic Charter occured in August of 1941. Roosevelt and Churchill met to agree to the charter in a ship off of Newfoundland. The charter consisted of several principles, similar to President Wilson's 14 Points, that would help them to gain peace. During the war, Russia, America, and Britain maintained a strictly military alliance. They set aside all politics. This alliance led to several meetings of "The Big Three."

At first Hitler and the Soviet Union were allied in the Nazi-Soviet Axis to get Poland, but when Hitler betrayed Stalin and invaded (Operation Barbosa), Stalin became his enemy and joined the Allies against Hitler.

first of all, germany had been defeated and an atomic weapon had een used since the last conference. the replacement of the big three made progress slow. poland was allowed "temporarary administration over east prussia and germany east of the oder-niesse river. this condition eventually became permanent. the allies agreed to divide germany into occupation zones until the final peace treaty. it remained divided until 1990.

The Locarno Agreements consisted of 7 treaties that were officially signed in London Dec 3, 1925 between the allied powers and the new European states. These treaties hoped to secure Post-WWI territorial lines and return relations with Germany.

It was a group of rules suggested by Vladimir Lenin and laid down by the communist government of Russia to ensure a complete break off of the older social democratic parrties from the communist parties. These conditions were laid down because hopes of revolution began to accumulate and the 21 conditions were used to reflect what Lenin aspired for in an ideal communist party.

Why were Jews the focus of Hitler's Policy of Extermination? How was he able to follow through with such a horrible mass murder?

The Nazi-Soviet Pact was a pact between Germany and Russia that divided Poland between the two countries and let Russia to own the Baltic states and also take Bessarabia away from Romania. In September 1939, the Germans invaded Poland and then two days later Britain and France declared war on Germany which is the beginning of World War II.

I think that is a little of an opinionated question but the main reason was because of his hatred for them. Im not sure how any man could wake up every day knowing what he was doing. He tried all possibilities to get "Judenrein" for Europe by shipping them out, but that didn't work so he resorted to "The Final Solution" which we all know as extermination. They used concentration camps and death camps where the women, children, and undesirables would be killed immediately and the men and others who were good for work were forced to do tons of labor.

One case of oppression prior to the “final solution” was the Nuremberg Laws. These laws were anti-Semitic, restricting Jews to certain occupations and not allowing them to participate in all of the regular activities that others could participate in. The second case was that Nazi Germany tried emigrating the Jews; they wanted to send them to Madagascar and other places, but no one else wanted them either, thus leading to the “final solution”, otherwise known as extermination. Hitler wanted all of them gone to fulfill his dream of a pure Aryan race.


What happened at Potsdam?

In the Potsdam Conference, the Allies decided what was going to happen to Germany after WWII. Potsdam was like the Versailles of WWI. It just organized post-war affairs and tried to insure peace.
